Christmas Eve at the food bank

24th December 2020

We wish no one needed to use a food bank, but there was a lot of joy today to be able to ease a little of the hardship and stress for more than 70 households across Wandsworth borough, who’d been referred to us this week.

One mother we delivered to texted us this afternoon to say:

‘I just want to thank you and the food bank team for bringing all these shopping bags and the supermarket gift card to my girls and me. I am so happy and really appreciate your help. Thanks a million and have a lovely Christmas’.

We’re so grateful to the amazing team of volunteer sorters, packers and drivers who worked hard all day to make sure as many families as possible had the help they needed on Christmas Eve.

And, as ever, a huge thank you to everyone who has donated food and money to make this all possible – we couldn’t do this without your compassion and generosity.

Our team are now taking their first break this year, and we’ll be back in action on Monday 4 January 2020. We wish you a very happy Christmas, and a New Year full of joy and peace.
