Balham challenged to Smash Easter Egg record

23rd March 2017

People of Balham & Battersea urged to donate chocolate eggs to

Wandsworth Food Bank

The annual Access Self Storage Easter Egg Appeal is open to the people of Balham for the very first time. This year the campaign – which has seen more than 2,800 chocolate eggs given to dozens of charities since it launched in 2011 – will benefit Access Self Storage Balham’s nominated charity: Wandsworth Food Bank.

Peter Hill, manager of Access Self Storage Balham said: “For so many of us, it’s impossible to imagine what it’s like to have to go without, but so many in the community are in a desperate state and we want to do all we can to help. If you are out and about shopping for Easter Eggs, please consider buying an extra egg for someone who is in need in our community and drop it off at the store, so we can take as many eggs as possible to men, women and children of all ages helped by Wandsworth Food Bank this Easter.”

Staff have already begun collecting eggs and people are invited to bring donations into the Balham and Battersea stores any time before April 10th, when a delivery will be made to the charity.

In 2016, the most generous regions in the Access Self Storage Easter Egg Appeal were Guildford with 150 eggs, Camberley and Manchester with 122 eggs each, followed by Portsmouth with 76 eggs and Southampton with 75.
