Nine Elms Giant Advent Calendar 2019

Nine Elms Arts Ministry, an emerging community exploring the arts, spirituality and social justice, have organised a wonderful Giant Advent Calendar trail around the Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms development area.

As well as creating this lovely family event Nine Elms Arts Ministry are wanting to support two charities working to support families in crisis and end food poverty. The opening events are hoping to provide the opportunity for people to be able to donate to Wandsworth Foodbank and Action Against Hunger.  along the way at the windows they see.

Launched last night with a theatrical flourish at The Turbine Theatre in Battersea Power Station’s Circus West Village, various special guests came along – the Bishop of Southwark, MPs, Local newspapers and ‘Cat in the Hat’ came to entertain the children.

So if you’re looking for something fun to do during Advent do come along to every window opening from now until 24th Dec in the Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms development area. The windows are available to view as a trail up til 5th Jan providing a festive way to explore Nine Elms’ iconic landmarks. You can also do the ‘After Dark Musical Trail’ with the New Orleans Band from World Heart Beat Music Academy – they will be leading the way after the window opening at Pump House Lane on Saturday 14th December at 5pm.

The last window will be unveiled at 4pm on Christmas Eve at St George’s Church, Patmore Street SW8, leading into a magical crib and carols for all ages.
