The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear – and donating to your local food bank

20th November 2020

As winter approaches and the effects of coronavirus continue to trap people in poverty, food banks in the Trussell Trust network are forecast to give out a staggering six emergency food parcels every minute.

So we’re really grateful to local people, families, schools, churches and businesses who are getting in touch already to find out the best ways to donate to help local people in hardship this winter and Christmas. Thank you!

To help us meet the continuing spike in need for the food bank, and to keep everyone as safe and well as possible, it would really help if you could give in either of these two main ways this Christmas please:

Donate money for food online via Bankuet

Your gift via Bankuet, specified for Wandsworth Foodbank, will enable us to order exactly the food we need for people, when we need it – and Bankuet will deliver it direct to us. You can also add Gift Aid when you give, if you’re able to.

Donate money directly, so we can use it where it’s needed most

Any cash gift you give will be used where the need is greatest as we support local people this winter and beyond. For instance, during December, we’ll be giving supermarket vouchers to every individual and family referred to us in hardship, alongside emergency food and toiletries. This means people can choose and buy additional items they need at Christmas, including fresh food, fruit and veg, and treats for children. You can give a single or regular gift, and add Gift Aid if you can.

Your gift will make a real difference this Christmas and beyond. Thank you.

And finally, if you’re unable to give in these ways, but you’d still like to donate, please let us know how you’d like to give or get in touch at [email protected]
